Away from Home

Osprey

“No matter how dreary and gray our homes are, we people of flesh and blood would rather live there than in any other country, be it ever so beautiful. There is no place like home.”

  1. That little plant with the two white flowers is a nasty one: Cnidoscolus stimulosus. One of its names is "Tread softly" for good reason. Its stem and underside of the leaves contain tiny, hollow, nettle-like thorns that are filled with a powerful irritant. If you manage to step on one barefoot or have one break off in your hand, it will feel like a bee sting! -- Jim Fowler
